Raised Right By Rush Limbaugh

For as long as I can remember, my mom always had Rush Limbaugh’s EIB Network radio show blasting in our kitchen, sometimes at a slightly too loud volume. Although as a young child, I lacked the comprehension skills to understand the details of Rush’s talking points, I was always drawn to the passion and power behind his voice and words.

When I became an adolescent, I began to understand and believe in the conservative principles Rush espoused. I learned the government is not the answer to my problems. In fact the government often causes more problems than it solves. Too much government regulation stymies businesses and economic growth. I learned that we all have God given rights and freedoms, and it is our responsibility to use those freedoms to work hard and live with virtue. Rush taught me that America is truly an exceptional nation where anyone can achieve the American dream if they are willing to work hard and persevere.

He’s the reason I joined the conservative movement, and continue to persevere in an increasingly polarized political climate. I’m not alone, there are plenty of other ‘Rush babies’ out there, many of whom are in the conservative movement as well.

Former Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany was a ‘Rush baby’.

Author and columnist Kimberly Strassel also tweeted about how she was a ‘Rush baby’.

Rush Limbaugh raised an entire generation of young conservatives, just like me. He inspired millions of freedom-loving patriots. Together, we must raise our voices, and continue to peacefully fight for the prosperity of our country.

Although taken too soon, I’m grateful for Rush’s tremendous service to our country, and I know his legacy will live on. So long, radio dad.
